Mary Riford
Senior Archaeologist, Laboratory Director

Mary Riford has 40 years experience performing archaeological research in Hawaii, serving as a Laboratory Director, Field Supervisor and Technician.  As PCSI’s Laboratory Director, she is responsible for management of cultural materials and artifacts collected for analysis and curation.  Ms. Riford has directed laboratory studies on over 30 projects, performing General Macrobotanical Analyses, preparing samples for specialized analyses, examining and researching artifacts, and managing collections in accordance with client’s curation requirements, including federal standards.  She is also highly experienced in archaeological monitoring, detailed recording, and emergency data recovery activities, including the collection and treatment of human remains.
