Doug Hazelwood
President, Senior Environmental Engineer

Doug Hazelwood has over 40 years of experience as an environmental consultant, specializing in the development and implementation of environmental compliance strategies for federal, municipal and private-sector clients.  His expertise and experience covers a broad range of environmental management areas, including site investigation and remediation; environmental planning; pollution prevention and waste minimization program development; facility design, operation, and closure; and operational compliance assessments.

Mr. Hazelwood has directed numerous site investigation projects in Hawaii and throughout the U.S., including evaluation of National Priority List (Superfund) sites, military Installation Restoration Program sites, petroleum refineries, steel mills, asbestos plants, underground pipelines and manufacturing plants.  He has participated in federal research programs to develop new cleanup technologies and has provided expert consultation and litigation support for several legal proceedings involving environmental site investigations and the remediation of contaminated sites.

Mr. Hazelwood has considerable environmental planning experience.  He has managed and prepared several Environmental Assessments (EAs) and Environmental Impact Statements (EISs) for development projects, including new facility and infrastructure construction, Department of Defense research programs, and land management initiatives.

As a former consultant to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Mr. Hazelwood provided expert support in the development and implementation of regulations affecting the generation, storage, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes.  He has inspected over 50 major industrial facilities throughout the nation,  prepared and reviewed permit applications, and developed detailed pollution prevention strategies for military and civilian manufacturing and service facilities.
